Needing a Home

Thank you for taking the time to consider rehoming one of our dogs.

Rehoming a dog – Important guidelines

To rehome a dog you MUST attend one of our open mornings.

At East Midlands Dog Rescue, we have established a structured process to ensure the welfare of our dogs and the success of their adoption into loving homes. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the steps involved in rehoming one of our dogs:

1. Attending Our Open Mornings

To begin the journey of adopting one of our dogs, we require all potential adopters to attend one of our designated open mornings. For information about our open morning schedule, please visit our ‘Contact Us‘ page on our website.

2. Geographic Limitations

To adopt a dog from East Midlands Dog Rescue, you must reside within a strict 25-mile radius of our center. This geographical limitation helps us ensure the well-being of our dogs and maintain effective support for our adopters.

3. Minimum Donation

A suggested minimum donation of £175 is kindly requested when adopting one of our dogs. This contribution is instrumental in covering the costs associated with the daily operations and care provided at our rescue center.

4. Adoption Contract

Before finalising the adoption, all adopters are required to thoroughly review and accept our full adoption contract. This contract outlines the rights and responsibilities of both the adopter and East Midlands Dog Rescue, ensuring a clear understanding of the commitment involved in providing a forever home to one of our dogs. You will be provided with an adoption contract upon visiting a welcome morning.
